The Haunted Shores Research Network has been running for five years. It incurs annual running costs of around £450 for the WordPress website hosting and the MailChimp. These services allow us to do all the communication, networking, and event organising in support of Network activity. So far, we’ve managed to cover these costs from institutional sources and project budgets, but those sources have ceased. There is a new bill due in June which will need to come out of our pockets.

So. we are seeing crowd funding to keep the network going for at least another year. We want to keep our events free and accessible, so we are seeking donations of £1 or more from those who have enjoyed and benefited from Haunted Shores over the last few years and who are in a position to offer a contribution. It is hard to express how sincerely we don’t expect everyone to contribute or how important it is to us not to impose on students or the precariously employed, but we really don’t and it really is. Nevertheless, to keep running the Network, we must find a way to raise the funds.

If you would like to donate to the Haunted Shores Research Network, you can do so here. The funds will be collected by Edinburgh Napier University, where Emily works, and will be used only to pay for the WordPress and the MailChimp. If we raise more than £450 this year, we will put the rest towards next year’s bills, and so on.

Thank you for your support!
